Let’s get cooking
-
Whisk together buttermilk, ½ cup Hot Ones® Los Calientes Verde Sauce, and 1 Tbsp. Bouillon or Flavor Base in large bowl until well blended. Fully submerge chicken wings in mixture. Set aside.
-
In separate shallow bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and remaining ½ Tbsp. Bouillon or Flavor Base until blended. Drizzle 2 Tbsp. buttermilk mixture into flour mixture and gently mix with a fork to create a few clumps that will help form a thick crust.
-
Pour vegetable oil into large skillet until about ½-inch deep. Heat over medium-high heat until 350°. Dredge chicken pieces into flour mixture gently pressing, including any clumps, to help form a thick crust. Continue until all chicken wings are well coated. Set aside.
-
Add chicken wings to hot oil (in batches if necessary) and fry 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is browned and thoroughly cooked.
-
Place fried chicken in a large bowl. Toss with remaining Hot Ones® Los Calientes Verde Sauce until evenly coated. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
-
Prepare Knorr x Hot Ones® Mexican Rice Side per package instructions and serve!
We recommend consumers read the label each time before buying our product. If gluten is present, it is clearly listed in plain language on the ingredient label (i.e., wheat flour, rye, barley, oats, and malt). Malt is a barley based ingredient. Since product formulations change from time to time, we do not publish a list of gluten-free flavors. For more information on Knorr products visit http://smartlabel.unileversolutions.com/knorrInformation on gluten based ingredients would be found in the "Allergens" tab.
