Terms and Conditions for Knorr’s Phone-A-Fred Competition:

 

The Promoter

1. Unilever Ltd, 3 St James Rd, Kingston upon Thames KT1 2BA (the “Promoter”).

The Competition

1. This promotion is open to residents of the UK aged 18 or over except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.

2. The title of the competition is "Phone-A-Fred” (the "Competition").

How to Enter

1. The opening date for entries is 09:00am GMT on 23rd October 2024 and the closing date for receipt of entries is 11:59pm GMT on 1st November 2024.
2. To enter, submit the webform at https://www.knorr.com/uk/phone-a-fred.html, which includes the submission of a written question.
3. The Promoter will review the entries and select five Competition Winners to participate in a one-to-one 15-minute video call with Fred Sirieix. The Promoter will invite each of the five Competition Winners via email to participate in the video call on Wednesday 6th November 2024. 
4. All competition entries must be received by the Promoter via the Knorr website https://www.knorr.com/uk/phone-a-fred.html by no later than 11:59pm GMT on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified. 

Entry Requirements

1. The promotion is limited to one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and group submissions are not allowed.

            Each entry: 

1. Entrants must complete the sign-up form with their full name and email address and must answer the following questions within 4000 characters per question:
2. What date-night questions would you like to ask Fred?
3. Why you would like to receive date-night advice from Fred?
4. Entrants agree that they will be available to participate in a video call with Fred Sirieix on the morning of Wednesday 6th November 2024.
5. No applications from agents, third parties, organised groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
6. By participating in this promotion, you agree to release, discharge and hold us harmless from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from your participation in this promotion (save that nothing shall limit our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
7. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

Prize

1. The Prize available to be won by entrants is that they will participate in a one-to-one video call with TV personality and maître d', Fred Sirieix. Competition Winners will engage in a conversation with Fred Sirieix to discuss their personal date night questions, with Fred offering his expert advice.
2. There will be 5 winners. Each winner will win:

• 1 x one-to-one 15-minute video call with Fred Sirieix.

            Prize specifics: 

1. Competition winners will be responsible for ensuring that they have strong Wi-Fi connection and be situated in a private room to take part in the video call.
2. The video calls will be hosted on Zoom and can be taken on either the Zoom mobile or desktop app. 
3. Unilever and W Communications will not be responsible for re-imbursing any Wi-Fi or mobile data usage to facilitate the video calls. 
4. Questions asked by the Competition Winners on the video calls will need to be pre-approved by the Promoter and is limited to 3 questions.
5. Competition Winners may not bring plus ones into the video calls otherwise the call will be cancelled.
6. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and non-refundable and there is no cash alternative in whole or in part unless otherwise stated above.

Selection of Winners

1. The competition entries will be shortlisted by a small panel of Unilever and W Communications’ judges. The decision of the panel of judges will be final. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: questions relating to date nights at home and cooking, interesting or humorous questions.
2. The winner(s) will be notified by email from knorr@wcommunications.co.uk within 48 hours of the closing date. The winners must claim their prize by responding to the email within 24 hours of the notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with the promotion rules.
3. The winner(s) may be filmed / photographed by the Promoter or on our behalf during the video calls. The winner(s) grant(s) us a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable and transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute and make derivative works of such [footage / photographs / testimonials] in any media and through any media channel.

General Terms

1. By entering the promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules. All entry instructions form part of the rules. 
2. Entrants’ personal data collected for the purpose of administering this Promotion by the Promoter and/or by its agents will be handled in accordance with Promoter’s privacy notice, available at https://www.unilevernotices.com/privacy-notices/united-kingdom-english.html
3. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the details of the event where it becomes necessary to do so. By participating in this competition, you agree to release, discharge and hold us harmless from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from your participation in this promotion (save that nothing shall limit our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).
4. These terms and conditions and any issues or disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these terms and conditions (whether such disputes or issues are contractual or non-contractual in nature, such as claims in tort, for breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Entrants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts to settle any such dispute or issues.
