Zero Salt Beef Stroganoff

Try our version of the classic Beef Stroganoff which uses Knorr® Zero Salt Bouillon Beef to add great flavour! This Beef Stroganoff recipe is sure to become a family favourite!

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. (22 mL) vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 lb. (450 g) boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut into thin 2-in/5 cm. strips
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped, (1 cup/250 mL)
  • 1 1/4 lbs. (567 g) cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) Knorr® Zero Salt Beef Bouillon
  • 1 cup (250 mL) water
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) nonfat sour cream

  1. Heat 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and cook beef, stirring occasionally, until browned, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove with slotted spoon to plate and set aside.

  2. Heat remaining oil in same skillet over medium-high heat and cook onions, stirring occasionally 1 minute. Add mushrooms and cook 2 min or until softened, stirring occasionally. Stir in Knorr® Zero Salt Beef Bouillon and cook, stirring constantly, until mushrooms appear caramelized, about 1 minute.

  3. Stir in water and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream and reserved beef. Serve over egg noodles or a wild rice blend.
