  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1 cube Knorr® Chicken Flavoured Bouillon Cubes - Halal, crumbled
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 green chilies, seeded and chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) grated fresh ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) lemon juice
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) Knorr ® Garam Masala Seasoning Blend
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) vegetable oil
  • 2 large onions, very finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) chopped fresh mint
  • 8 ounces (250 g) basmati rice, cooked and kept warm
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sliced almonds, (optional)

Chicken Biryani
  1. Combine yogurt, crumbled Knorr® Chicken Flavoured Bouillon Cubes, garlic, chilies, ginger, lemon juice, cardamom pods, turmeric and Knorr® Garam Masala Seasoning Blend In a large bowl until well blended. Stir in chicken and toss to coat; set aside to marinate for 20 to 30 minutes.

  2. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet and cook onions on medium heat, until browned, 6 to 8 minutes. Remove onions set aside.

  3. Add chicken and marinade to same pan. Add half of the cilantro, half of the mint and half of the onions and cook gently on medium heat for 4 to 6 minutes. Remove from heat.

  4. Cover chicken mixture with the cooked rice. Sprinkle the remaining onions, cilantro and mint over the rice. Add toasted almonds if desired.

  5. Cover and cook on very low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from heat; gently stir the rice and serve with poppadoms, pickles and chutneys of your choice.
