  • 6 Tbsp. (90 mL) vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 1/3 cups / 325 mL)
  • 7 cloves garlic, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup / 60 mL)
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) finely chopped fresh ginger
  • 6 cardamom pods
  • 2 lbs. (1 kg) beef stew meat, seasoned, if desired with salt and pepper
  • 2 tsp. (10 mL) Knorr ® Garam Masala Seasoning Blend
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) salt
  • 1/4 tsp. (1 mL) ground cayenne pepper
  • 5 Tbsp. (75 mL) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 1/2 lbs. (675 g) baby spinach leaves

Beef and Spinach Curry
  1. Heat oil In 8-qt. (8 L) pot over medium-high heat and cook onion, garlic, ginger and cardamom pods, stirring occasionally, until onion begin to soften, about 6 minutes.

  2. Stir in beef, Knorr® Garam Masala Seasoning Blend, cumin, salt and cayenne pepper and cook until beef is browned, about 2 minutes. Stir in 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) yogurt and cook 1 minute. Repeat with remaining 4 Tbsp. (60 mL) yogurt.

  3. Stir in spinach a quarter at a time, and cook until each batch is wilted. Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, until beef is tender, about 1 1/2 hours.
