    Serves

  • 1 kg beef sirloin slices, ¼” thick then pounded
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pc Knorr Beef Cube, mashed
  • 1/4 cup Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (diluted with 30 g water)
  • 1/4 cup corn oil
  • 5- 6 cups cooked rice
  • toasted garlic

  1. Most of the time, Beef Tapa is served tough and dry. But with these simple steps, you can enjoy your cuts of beef without sacrificing tenderness. Begin by pounding those sirloin slices thinly. With the addition of baking powder and allowing it to sit for a few minutes in the chiller, you are assured that your beef tapa will come out tender.

  2. To flavour these meat slices, you need to combine the Knorr Beef Cube, Knorr Liquid Seasoning, sugar, oil and the meat slices in a bowl. Massage well and transfer in a food-grade container and allow to marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the chiller if you’re not going to use it immediately.

  3. When frying the tapa, make sure you have a hot pan ready with a little bit of cooking oil. Cook this until brown. Remove and transfer the meat into a serving plate and set aside.

  4. In the same pan, add the marinade mixture and thicken this with the cornstarch mixture. You can now pour this onto the tapa.

  5. Beef tapa is also a comfort dish and is best enjoyed with a bowl of hot rice that has been seasoned with Knorr Liquid Seasoning and cooked in a hot wok. With the addition of toasted garlic on top of your rice, you know that you are truly home.
