Slow Cooker Beef Bourguignon

  • 1 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 kg braising beef
  • 200 grams smoked bacon lardons
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled crushed
  • 450 grams pearl onions
  • 5 large carrots peeled, trimmed & cut into chunks
  • 400 grams button mushrooms
  • 1 Knorr Beef Stock Pot, diluted in 500 ml water
  • Knorr Beef Casserole Mealmaker
  • 2 tbsp dried thyme
  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • salt & Pepper
  • 3 tbsp cornflour
  • chopped fresh parsley, to serve

  1. Coat the beef in the Knorr® Beef Casserole Mealmaker, heat the oil over a medium heat and brown the beef in batches. Removing from the pan as they are coloured.

  2. Add the bacon pieces and fry on a high heat unLl starLng to go brown and crispy.

  3. Add the garlic, onions, carrots and mushrooms and fry for a couple of minutes until just starting to colour.

  4. Put the browned beef back into the pan, along with the Knorr® Beef stock Pot, dried thyme, tomato puree.

  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours in your slowcooker unLl the beef is tender.

  6. Spoon a ladle or two of cooking juice out of the slow cooker into a small bowl and whisk in the cornflour to make a smooth paste with no lumps. Add stew and sLr well to thicken.

  7. Allow this to bubble for 5 minutes until thickened and serve.
