  • 1 There are 3 steps in making this dish. First, you need to combine all the beef ingredients in a bowl. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • 2 Second, prepare the sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients. Mix well and with the use of a funnel, transfer the mixture into a squeeze bottle and chill until ready to use.
  • 3 The last step is to assemble the sandwich. Get a grill pan or a flat frying pan and make it nice and hot over high heat. Drain the beef from the marinade and grill until cooked through. Do this in batches so the pan will not be overcrowded. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • 4 Once the beef is slightly cooled, chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • 5 Heat tortilla or pita bread on a flat pan until slightly toasted. Transfer on a plate then put some of the filling in the middle part of the bread starting with the lettuce/cabbage, chopped beef, sliced tomatoes, onions and cucumber. Drizzle some sauce over and top with grated cheese. Roll and wrap in foil. Do the same with the rest of the ingredients dividing the fillings into the breads. And that's our dish! Over good conversations on the table, a game of chess or simply hanging out in the kitchen, Pinoy Shawarma is just so delightful to eat!
