Roast Beef With A Spiced Herb Rub

The herb spice rub used on the beef in this recipe gives it an intense flavour.

  • Beef roast (fillet or rump or sirloin)
  • KNORR beef cubes, crumbled
  • Mayonnaise
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Coarse black pepper
  • Crushed chilli flakes
  • Dried herbs
  • Corn flour
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees or prepare a braai fire.

  2. In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, cornflour, chopped garlic, dried herbs, cayenne pepper, crumbled KNORR cubes. Coarse black pepper and crushed chilli flakes.

  3. Pack the seasoning paste on the top and sides of the roast and place on a roasting sheet.

  4. Roast for 40 minutes and serve with potatoes and salad.

  5. ALTERNATIVELY, place the rub beef roast in a pot with 250ml water, and simmer with the lid on for an hour, ensuring that the water does not dry out.
