Beef Shawarma Ingredients
- 350 g beef sirloin, sliced thinly (tapa cut)
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 pc Knorr Beef Cube
- 4 pcs calamansi, juiced
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- pinch of ground black pepper
For the garlic sauce:
- ½ cup Lady's Choice Real Mayonnaise
- ¼ cup yogurt
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper, to taste
For the shawarma:
- 1 pack medium flour tortillas or pita bread
- 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage, iceberg lettuce, or red cabbage
- 1 pc medium white onion, sliced thinly
- 3 pcs ripe tomatoes, deseeded and sliced thinly
- ½ pc cucumber, peeled, deseeded, and sliced into thin sticks
- 1 pc singkamas, sliced into thin strips (optional)
- ½ cup grated cheese
Pinoy Beef Shawarma Recipe
Step 1 :
Make the beef tapa: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Marinate beef for at least 30 minutes. Set aside.
Step 2:
Make the garlic sauce: Combine all ingredients in a bowl; mix well. Transfer to a squeeze bottle and chill until ready to use.
Step 3
Heat a grill or frying pan over high flame. Cook beef in batches until cooked through. Set aside to cool slightly. Chop beef into bite-sized pieces.
Step 4
Assemble the shawarma: Heat a tortilla or pita bread on a flat pan until slightly toasted. Transfer to a plate. Arrange cabbage or lettuce and beef in the middle. Top with onions, tomatoes, cucumber, and singkamas.
Step 5
Drizzle garlic sauce over the fillings and top with grated cheese. Roll and wrap in foil. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Serve immediately.
