Chili Con Carne Recipe

This Mexican dish uses the combination of flavors from the beef, carrots and celery mixed with spices and red kidney beans, enhanced with Knorr Kaldereta.

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 pc. onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ½ kg. ground beef
  • ¼ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pc. carrot cut into small cubes
  • 1 stalk celery, cut into small cubes
  • 1 pc red bell pepper, cut into small cubes
  • 200 g. red kidney beans
  • 1 pack Knorr Kaldereta Recipe Mix
  • 2 cups water

  1. Here’s what you can do to make the most out of your spices. Toast the chilli powder, cumin and cinnamon in a pan for not more than a minute. You just want to bring out their essential oil. Remove and use it for later.

  2. Let’s continue by getting your pan nice and hot over medium high heat. Pour some oil and throw in the onion and garlic. Sauté until you can smell the nice aroma from the cooked vegetables.

  3. Add the ground beef next and just sauté until brown. You may now add the toasted spices, chili powder, cumin, and cinnamon followed by the Knorr Kaldereta Recipe Mix dissolved in water. Add the beans next and mix this well.

  4. Bring this to the boil and simmer until the sauce is thick. Add the remaining vegetables, and after 2 minutes of simmering, this dish is done!

  5. Get ready because this dish will take you all the way to Mexico and back home. Enjoy this with your friends and family so they can join you in your “travels” too!
