WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • The Pork and Marinade:
  • 1 kilo pork (kasim or pigue), cut into bite sized pieces
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 pcs eggs
  • 2 pcs tokwa, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • The Sauce:
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 3 slices ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1/2 cup red and green bell peppers, cut into thin strips
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

Let's Get Cooking

  • 1 Let’s begin by combining the Pork and Marinade in a bowl and let these sit for at least 30 minutes.
  • 2 tasty. Since tokwa is going to be served crispy, you need to coat it with cornstarch, because cornstarch gives a crispier texture and will help your tokwa not to stick to the pan.
  • 3 Fry the tokwa in hot oil until golden brown then remove it immediately before frying the marinated pork slices after. Be sure to have a plate lined with paper towels ready so you can drain off the fried pork and tokwa of any excess oil from frying.
  • 4 Let’s now move on to making the sauce. Grab a saucepan and make it nice and hot over medium high heat. Throw in the ginger slices and cook them until brown before removing them from the pan.
  • 5 In the same pan, throw in the garlic, red and green bell peppers and sauté them before pouring all the remaining sauce ingredients in. Give this a few minutes to thicken then drop the fried tokwa and crispy pork in and simmer again for a good 3-5 minutes.
