Chicken Pastil

  • 1/2 kilo chicken breast fillet
  • 2 pcs laurel leaves
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns
  • water
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 8 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 2 chopped medium onion
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Knorr Liquid Seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cooked white rice

  1. Place chicken breast fillets in a pot with laurel leaves & black peppercorns. Cover with enough water to cover. Allow to boil. Reduce heat to simmer until fully cooked. Drain chicken pieces from boiling liquid. Reserve ½ cup of the boiling liquid. Allow to cool slightly and shred chicken pieces. Set aside.

  2. In a pan, heat oil and saute garlic and onions until soft.

  3. Add shredded chicken. Mix well then add vinegar, Knorr Liquid Seasoning and turmeric powder. Toss well. Add some of the reserved boiling liquid to moisten chicken. Adjust seasoning according to taste.

  4. Cook chicken until desired doneness- you may cook longer to toast the chicken or serve it abit moist. Serve with hot rice.
