Toad in the Hole

This Toad in the Hole recipe makes sure you get it right every time. The secret is to rest the batter for a while and to ensure the oil is smoking hot when you add the batter to the sausages. Fantastic when served with Knorr Gravy.

  • 300 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 tsp fresh, chopped rosemary
  • 1 tsp Knorr Touch of Taste Beef
  • 6 herby pork sausages
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 28 grams Knorr Beef Gravy Pot

  • 1 Preheat the oven to 210°C, 190°C fan, Gas mark 7.
  • 2 To make the batter, place the flour in a mixing bowl and stir in the eggs. Gradually whisk in the milk until a smooth batter is formed. Stir in the rosemary and Knorr Touch of Taste. Set aside.
  • 3 Place the sausages in a roasting tin with 1 tablespoon oil and cook in the oven for 10 minutes.
  • 4 Pour in the batter and return to the oven. Cook for around 30-35mins or until the batter has risen and is golden brown.
  • 5 Make up Knorr Gravy Pot according to packet directions and serve with the Toad in the Hole with seasonal vegetables of your choice.
