Scotch Broth

This hearty winter soup of lamb, leeks, cabbage, carrots, turnips, celery and stock is a Scottish favourite that’s packed with authentic taste. The pearl barley will soak up all the stock, so use sparingly. A great soup the whole family will enjoy.

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 celery stick, chopped
  • 1/2 leek, white part only finely chopped
  • 100 g carrots, peeled and diced
  • 100 g turnips, peeled and diced
  • 1 Knorr Beef Stock Pot or Knorr Lamb Stock Pot
  • 1 litre water
  • 80 g minced lamb
  • 1/2 white cabbage, chopped
  • 4 tbsp pearl barley
