  • 350 g beef bone in shank with meat
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup whie onions, diced
  • 1 pack Knorr Sinigang Original Mix
  • 4 pcs Siling pangisang
  • 1/2 tbsp calamansi jiuce
  • 2 tbsp, Achuete fish sauce to taste
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup fresh red and green cabbage leaves

  • 1 Let’s begin by preparing the beef for searing. Searing means to cook the beef in a hot pan over high heat until the meat is brown in color. Meat should not be moist; otherwise, you will not be able to achieve the brown color you are looking for. You don’t have to season the beef with salt because when you bring the beef to a boil, it will take a longer time to tenderize the meat. Salt dehydrates meat. Season only after the meat is cooked through.
  • 2 After searing the beef, remove from the pan and just set this aside.DISH DISPLAY DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY MEAT
  • 3 Using the same pot, throw in the onions and sauté for a few minutes. Pour the water in and return the seared beef into the pot. Now, bring this to a boil then simmer until the beef is tender. If you think more water is needed, just add more into the pot.
  • 4 Sprinkle Knorr Sinigang Original Mix before adding the siling pangsigang and calamansi juice.To make your sinigang more attractive, with the use of a strainer place achuete seeds on top. Ladle the broth to the strainer until broth turns into orange. You will be impressed at the color the broth will take.
  • 5 Give your sinigang a nice seasoning of fish sauce and pepper then add the cabbage leaves, simmering it for a minute or two and that’s our dish!
