  • 1 Knorr Naturally Tasty Spaghetti Bolognese
  • 500 grams lean beef mince
  • 1 large onion roughly chopped
  • 3 carrots peeled and roughly chopped
  • 250 grams button mushrooms sliced
  • 200 grams lardons
  • 2 clove garlic minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp Italian herb seasoning (optional)
  • 400 gram tin chopped tomatoes
  • 284 gram of tomato puree (2 tins)
  • 700 grams tomato passata
  • dash olive oil
  • salt & pepper to season
  • grated Parmesan to garnish
  • 280 grams pasta to serve

  1. Begin by blitzing the onion, carrot & celery in a food processor until finely chopped.

  2. Add the mushrooms to the food processor and blitz until finely chopped.

  3. Heat a large pan with some olive oil and gently sauté the lardons.

  4. Add the vegetables & garlic to the pan with the lardons and cook for 5-10 minutes until the onion is translucent and the other vegetables are softened.

  5. Remove the vegetables from the heat and place in a large pot.

  6. Return the pan to the heat and fry the mince until nicely browned.

  7. Next, add the meat it to the pot with the vegetables.

  8. Add your Mealmaker to the pot, followed by the nutmeg, Italian herbs and bay leaf.

  9. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, puree and pasatta and mix until combined.

  10. Bring the mixture to the boil, before reducing to a simmer for 25 minutes.

  11. Season & serve with your choice of pasta or courgette and some grated Parmesan to garnish.
