Ingredients

  • 2 cups low-fat buttermilk
  • 3 1/2 -lb. whole chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. Knorr® Chicken flavor Bouillon
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  • Pour buttermilk over chicken in large, shallow nonaluminum baking dish or resealable plastic bag. Cover, or close bag and marinate in refrigerator, turning occasionally, at least 4 hours.
  • Remove chicken from buttermilk, discarding buttermilk. Combine flour, Knorr® Chicken flavor Bouillon, paprika, cayenne pepper, and black pepper in shallow dish.
  • Heat enough oil in large deep skillet to come about 1/3 of the way up the sides to 325°.
  • Coat chicken with flour mixture. Add to skillet and cook in batches if necessary, turning occasionally, until chicken is thoroughly cooked and golden brown, about 15 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
